“Save the Menomonie River” Tour: Sulfide Mining Discussion

Posted on

The Chippewa Valley has a great opportunity to engage in a sulfide mining discussion with long-time activists Dr. Al Gedicks and Anahkwet (Guy Reiter) on Tuesday October 10th at 7pm at the Eau Claire Public Library (Eau Claire Room).

Hosted by The Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters, Dr. Gedicks and Anahkwet will be stopping in Eau Claire on their state-wide “Save the Menomonie River” Speaking Tour to help us better understand Wisconsin’s history of sulfide mining and the most recent threat of sulfide mining: Senator Tom Tiffany and his Industrial Acid Mining Bill which seeks to repeal the mining “Prove It First Law.”

This is an incredible opportunity for us in the Chippewa Valley to learn more about sulfide mining and how we can act to protect Wisconsin’s water against the toxic acid drainage it produces.
Please join Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters, Dr. Gedicks, and Anahkwet on Tuesday October 10th!
